yujin, after reading your email, so many memories of you & I came back to me. like how we used to sneak into mong kok to buy scandalous underwear (that i still have!) and how we got chased by hairy monsters in causeway bay, or was it admiralty? and how we used to sit around after school with our big bars of cadbury, wasting the day away. and even how we 'discreetly' sneaked into the high school gym to steal glances of the bball team; or rather certain bball players (ahhaha!).
what you said in your email was true, its scary now that we're older and we can look back at what silly psychos we were. its scary that we're now where we always wanted to be, older,  and now we ask ourselves, is this how i pictured what my life was going to be like back then? i know mine's not what i expected. i know yours isn't either.the truth is we're so far from the path we expected to take or even wanted to take. i remember how when we found out we were both moving away, we got so scared because it meant that every plan we had ever made had to be broken.
now we're on different ends of the planet, leading so very different lives. i remember being so stubborn and hating everything that had to change but now that im here..its not so bad. its pretty great actually. sometimes life has to change for the better, but we're just too short sighted to see the whole big picture. i know you're not happy where you are now but you have to wait and be patient and good things will happen yujin. i think im preaching now but anyway, you're so strong willed you can get through anything!! i know this better than anyone. im thankful you're still my best friend, after so many years. we may have changed a little, or a lot, but deep down we're still 2 silly, carefree 7th graders, enjoying all the great things life has to offer. i miss you yuj, take care :)
